GlobalGrind Facebook App

By geekycybermom

The GlobalGrind Facebook app is pretty sweet I must admit. Essentially, what this app does is make it super easy for a GlobalGrind user with a Facebook account to access and utilize GlobalGrind within the Facebook framework. Adding the GlobalGrind Facebook app was simple and took no time at all. When you are logged in your facebook account and click on the Global Grind app, it looks just like the website for the most part. You see the latest popular photos, stories and videos, which you can choose to ‘grind’ or ‘trash’; as well as photos of new users of the week. Users can also submit a link to Global Grind, invite friends or take the Global Grind trivia challenge.

Everything is clearly laid out and visually pleasing to the eye. All print is legible and the instructions on how to use the app are clear and concise

In order to ‘grind’ or ‘trash’ a photo, story or video, you need to be logged into your Global Grind account. While in this app, it gives users the option to link to their existing GlobalGrind account or to create a new one. I already set up a GlobalGrind account before adding the app to my Facebook account, so I chose to link to my existing GlobalGrind account. This is where I ran into trouble. It continued to give me the Invalid credentials message “the email and password combination was invalid. Please try again.” I tried linking to my Global Grind account several times, but continued to receive that message. I created another Global Grind account and tried linking to the new one from the GlobalGrind Facebook app, but received the same invalid credentials message. This process was done over the coarse of four days and I have yet to be successful in linking to either of my existing Global Grind accounts.

It is a new app and as I have also had trouble accessing the GlobalGrind app in Facebook due to “kinks being worked out”, I can only assume this is a bug that will be fixed as they continue to improve the app. Aside from these issues, once everything is fully functional it looks like it will be a promising app to use and may gain GlobalGrind more users.

I just linked my account with no problems. It is a pretty cool app. I haven’t seen someone pull as many features over into facebook yet.
