Hip-Hop icon Fab 5 Freddy, the original host of MTV’s seminal Yo! MTV Raps, and Steve Repetti, Chief Technical Officer of Fifth Generation Systems, Inc. (5g), will launch the “Place 2 Be” on Zude™, with Fab as curator. The “Place 2 Be” will be the Urban Lifestyle destination on Zude, encompassing music, fashion, cars and action sports, and will feature contributions from noted personalities in the hip-hop and urban communities.
Yawn.
I checked it out and haven’t really found a purpose for the site as of yet. It appears they will try to attract users based on the Fab 5 Freddy name and claims of social networking:
“The company’s Web 2.0 application, Zude, is a new social computing platform offering users an unprecedented level of freedom and design customization. Using an endless supply of free web pages, groundbreaking drag-and-drop technology and a complete set of social networking features, users can create a media-rich website experience to share with the world.”
There are some “artistic” elements to using this app. Users can drag, drop, and add graphical elements to a web page, Fab explains his use of Zude as “…my new medium—a fresh canvas, I can do stuff on Zude I can’t do anywhere else.”
Seem like as of late everyone and their mama is trying to clamor to be associated with “web 2.0″ anything.
