Online Magazines get Upgraded

Category: Social Networking, Trends, Web 2.0

One of my favorite online publications, Clutch Magazine, released some nifty social bookmarking upgrades to their site on Valentines Day. While this is just a quick post about this upgrade I think what is notably a larger trend is the attempt publications (online and offline) are making at integrating community, social, and networking features into their websites. The best and most recent example of this is FastCompany.com’s re-design/re-launch. Impressive. I am sure there will be many more publications to jump on the band wagon be it as smaller as allowing users the ability to interact with content on their favorite social network or as grand as incorporating their own social network.

  • You know, I think Vibe.com has done a great job of bringing community back into their site in a real way. I recently received two copies of their latest issues, and there are prompts to lead you back to the community on the site and on their mobile apps. I'm sort of impressed, because the site was in major disarray for a while.

In fact, I owe you guys a post on what Vibe.com to get back in the game.
