<description>Actually Silverlight is not Microsoft version of Javascript, a more reasonable comparison is to say it Microsoft answer to Flash.

JavaScript was influenced by many languages and was designed to have a similar look to Java, but be easier for non-programmers to work with.

There is tons of open source Javascript out there, and despite the name, JavaScript is essentially unrelated to the Java programming language, but the trademark nonetheless is own by "SUN".

I guess when your the world's largest software company, it does seem to get more difficult to innovate, but from what I am seeing, they are doing a damn good job of "acquiring" the innovation they need to stay a market leader. I will cross that bridge when I get there, you feel me (wink, wink)....

<description>Thanx for the invite! I'll be at the gates ready to upload my originals...I asked a programmer last week about "Silverlight" and he kinda scoffed at it saying it was MS's version of java script.I guess that's cool since he couldn't use any open source tools for work anyway. I'm not saying JS is open-source(is it?) I'm saying Microsoft is still best at taking not innovating...</description>
