i'm curious to know why the executives that are in charge of internet media never mention the benefits of open-source solutions. tariq mentioned the lack of architecture and capital that smaller black firms have in terms of trying to establish a presence on the web. i've always felt that today's 2.0 technologies...from open-source cms like drupal to scalable hosting platforms like amazon s3.....could be utilized by small businesses to grow with the business.

the days of needing large capital and massive tech teams are going away. i'd even argue that it costs more to publicize your medium via old-fashioned print than it would setting aside the same funds and doing some online marketing and word-of-mouth.</description>
