Exactly. I am old enough to remember when our execution was never a question, it was only a matter of “access” or, God forbid, the strange and sad need on the part of some of us for acceptance from others (I got over that issue the day BEFORE I was born thankfully). So, yes, I expect no less from us but that expectation is a subconscious one. That is the way it is and has to be in order to impart “nation building” skills into all that we do (kudos to the late Afrikan griot, Dr. John Henrik Clarke, for the “nation building” moniker!).

I agree, Blacks have specific content needs that are not met in mainstream web media. Now that we have an increase of web properties that are trying to target us I think it is especially important that the content and execution of these properties be up-to-par with mainstream web media. As Blacks I don’t think we should expect or receive anything less because of our race.

We are “in the game” now so we must naturally create our own social niches. Nobody else is going to speak to me like I can nor understand why I speak the way I do (nor really give a hoot nanny). Oh, by the way, great idea with Black Web 2.0. It is exactly what I am talking about.

glad to see someone could tell that I was kidding about the sam cooke reference. LOL! And, yep, the content was appropriate for their users of which I ain’t one and ain’t never gonna be one either. The August statistics were a bit surprising, but, like you said, it’s their niche and must be catching on as such. I wonder what’s next though I’m afraid to really find out……
